POETRY LOUNGE
Fun workshops for youth and adults that offer the space, tools and support to write and perform an original piece of spoken word poetry. Participate in a series of generative writing activities that help to push past writers block and get creativity flowing. Learn tips and techniques to prepare for an engaging performance.
MASKS & ME
A series of fun and interactive workshops for kids, that explore identity and storytelling through the hands-on process of mask making. Masks, as craft, play and ritual, will be made from papier-mâché, found materials and paint. Each workshop is filled with engaging, collaborative and reflective activities that encourage intersectional understanding and celebration.
SOAPBOX POETS
A fun and interactive workshop for kids that explores poetry and storytelling through the hands-on process of soap carving. Through engaging and reflective activities participants will come up with their own poem and carve their words into soap. We then bound them together with string or plaited grass, creating a magnificent hanging soap sculpture.
